Breaking Down the 3 Powder Coating Lines

You may know that Valley Design’s history is rooted in our powder coating services, but did you know that we have 3 different production lines that all serve different purposes and allow us to provide high-quality and timely products?

Let us break down our three production lines and what makes each one unique.

Our Batch Operation

The first of our three powder coating lines is the batch operation. Not only is this the oldest of the three, but it is the smallest – meaning it allows for small runs and quick switches between powder coat colors. It also serves as a reminder of what our powder coating services looked like when we first began and allows us to easily provide samples, small quantity options, and more variety to our clients.

Our Building 1 Line

The second of our three production lines is located in Building 1 and is creatively known as “line 1” (or our “Building 1 line” if we’re being professional). Unlike our batch operation, this one uses a conveyor line to take medium-sized runs throughout the entirety of the powder coating process. Built in the early 1990s, Building 1 line provided our first opportunity to produce large scale quantities using a streamlined process. This made the introduction of line 1 a significant milestone in our history and in our ability to meet the growing needs of our clients.

Our Building 2

The newest and largest production line we utilize here at Valley Design is in Building 2, so you’ve likely already guessed it goes by the names “line 2” and “Building 2 line.” Building 2 was constructed in 1997 to process all large runs. Using a similar process as Building 1, Building 2 utilizes a conveyor line system to move our products throughout the entirety of the powder coating processes, just on an even larger scale – further increasing our production efficiency.
