New Benefits of Building 3 (Thanks to Building 5)

In the manufacturing industry, it’s important to always be looking for ways to improve the efficiency of your operations. For us, the addition of Building 5 to our facilities in 2023 not only afforded us much-needed additional square-footage and capabilities, but also allowed us to make some beneficial changes to Building 3’s layout, increasing our facility efficiency.

Before Building 5 was added, Building 3 housed all of our tubing storage and inventory, as well as several tube saws and our parts washer. Though the construction of Building 5 predominately for housing our new Tube Laser, we were able to move all tubing storage, tube saws, and the parts washer into the new building as well. This allowed us to allocate more space in Building 3 for four key components of our manufacturing process so our team can streamline the navigating of parts through the production process, inspect quality, and package up our table base components more efficiently. These four components include:

  1. Inventory Racking

With the extra space in Building 3, we were able to reorganize our previous inventory racking and dedicate a larger area of our facility for table base components that have been fabricated, finished, and are ready to be assembled and packaged. This change also allows our team to expand our on-hand inventory while maintaining an effective and easy-to-navigate system.

  1. Chrome Inventory

Since we moved our other completed table base components into Building 3, we also relocated our inventory of chrome-finished table base components from a separate staging area away from other production. By doing this, we also allow our inventory and quality control processing of incoming chrome products to be conveniently located next to one another.

  1. Chrome Quality Control

As quality is paramount for us, ensuring our products and product finishes meet our quality standards is essential – especially for our chrome products, which are finished off-site. Thanks to the extra room now available, we moved our chrome inspection bay into Building 3, adjacent to the new chrome inventory racks, where we can easily examine and store our finished products all in one space before they are assembled and sent off to their final destination.

  1. Assembly Staging

Lastly, we dedicated the section of Building 3 nearest to our assembly/packing department in Building 4 to house our assembly staging. Here we temporarily store the products that are next in line to be packaged and sent to our clients. By keeping these final table base components close to packaging, our team can easily access the product for the final stages of our manufacturing process.

Ultimately, by adding to the layout of our manufacturing facility with Building 5, we’ve been able to allocate more room for our inventory, inspection, and assembly staging, which increases our facility efficiencies all while ensuring our final products are still high-quality and completed on time. And the best benefit is that there is still room for more inventory, machinery, or manufacturing processes as we continue to grow.
