‘Tis the Holiday Season and to Valley Design that means the Employee Sharing Tree is back! For the last 16 years, we have been making donations to Fillmore County and the local area Food Shelf to assist families in need with Christmas gifts, food, clothing, and monetary donations. Valley Design is blessed to have the opportunity to give back to our great community!
Starting in November, the local food shelf expressed the need for cereal. To tie in with Thanksgiving, Valley Design hosted a ‘Cereal for Pumpkins’ program which led to total of 37 boxes of cereal being delivered to the Fillmore County Food Shelf.
In December, the Employee Sharing Tree delivered big results! To start, the Valley Design team hosted an Ugly Sweater Contest. Pat Anderson won a $25 Visa Gift Card for his entry (Pictured), which he then donated to Christmas in Fillmore County.
Employee contributions and the Valley Design match amounted to $10,111. For the Christmas in Fillmore County, the team contributed 207 $25 Gift Cards as well as gifts for 19 sponsored kids and more bags filled with toys and clothes from the Valley Design team. The Preston Food Shelf saw us donate 4,544 Pounds of Food as well as a check for $6,561.
We are so very proud of our team for thinking of the community this time of year and for keeping our best tradition as a company going. In the last five years alone, Valley Design has contributed over $39,610 to the Fillmore County Community as well as donating a WHOPPING 25,418 pounds of food.
